Summary[]
Japanese Shrines could be found in the Zen Dragon Event throughout the island, with Elegant Shrine being the highest leveled Shrine. Through merging, a Temple could be achieved. Through the use of Dragon Gems, further ranks can be created, however would have required insane amount of Gems. The whole Merge Chain had been unlocked from the beginning.
They could be harvested for Japanese Charms of various levels, which were used to gain points for rewards in the Event. From level 3 onwards Japanese Shrines can be tapped once in a while for Japanese Charms corresponding to their description. Rarely could be harvested for Japanese Chests.

- This is the first Unlimited Event Harvestables Merge Chain that got 9 levels instead of 10.
- As the 8th reward from the Zen Dragon Event you can receive an Event Trophy (Temple) which shares its name and sprite with level 6 Japanese Shrine.
- Some of the Zen Temples (Small Zen Temple, Zen Temple, Temple of Tranquillity, Temple of Spirit, Grand Temple of Enlightenment and Shangri-La) derived their graphics from the Japanese Shrines (Sand Shrine, Water Shrine, Temple, Nice Temple, Grand Temple and The Last Lotus Temple respectively).
